CB 5: That's a "gay" pick revisited

What up everyone, wanted to say thank you for the great response from my first blog entry. I really appreciate the ideas, and thoughts, and please keep them coming, I’m half way through the season, and I need plenty more ammo to fend off these punk veterans. This week is obviously a big one. My first real Monday Night Football game, against the Pittsburg Steelers and to be honest, I think I’m more excited for this game than any other game this year. With a week off after Monday’s game, I have a feeling our team is going to come out ballin’, and we need to cause Pittsburg ain’t no joke. Plus, I need a vacation. I haven’t had one since I took 5 days off after the Sugar Bowl before getting ready for the draft. Then it was the Senior Bowl, combine, pro day, surgery, and then all summer practicing and rehab. So...I think you get the point.

But in light of this week’s game, I’ve been put in an interesting position regarding my fantasy football team. I have Phillip Rivers at QB but, since he has a bye and my backup, Ben Roethlisberger, plays against my defense, the Redskins, I don’t know what to do. Umm...sorry Big Ben, I got mad respect, but I go against this defense everyday, and I haven’t seen a QB this year have a good day against them. So I think I will have to go with a free agent, Kyle Orton. Ball out for me man.

Well that was easy, but I haven’t even come close to the point of this post. See, Chris Cooley’s Fantasy Football Video was a bit hit. While you people loved it, I began to experience some negative backlash after the video was posted. Maybe its cause people have a tendency to be naive, or sometimes we see things at face value instead of seeing the overall picture. For instance how many of you have come up to me and said, “You’re not very good at fantasy football are you?” Why, cause the power of editing, and a premature comment gave everyone the wrong impression?

As I remember it, I said, “I’ll take Lendale White,” and Chris replied, “That’s a gay pick.” But what you don't see was when that actually happened...in the 6th round, not the 1st. So while you all were probably watching, laughing, and saying, “Yea, what a gay pick Colt. You’re so funny Chris. We love you.” Please!!! The power of editing a video can be very misleading and my first pick in the draft was actually Randy Moss. Plus, Lendale has the 3rd most fantasy points by a RB, so maybe it would have been smart to grab him in round 1. Now let me ask you this, is my pick gay now Chris?

Look folks I’ve been playing tackle football since 4th grade, never missed a year. I love this game, I really do, but a great lesson needs to be learned from our fantasy football video. When it comes to the media, don’t always believe what you see. I’m not even sure if I’m even doing well in Chris’s league, but I do know this, Lendale White is carrying me regardless. So I’ll end this post with the infamous words of Good Will Hunting… Chris, do you like apples? Lendale White is better than all three backs on your team… how do you like them apples?????

Touchdown Time

It seems uncanny that in my most productive start to a football season I only have 1 touchdown. Even crazier, the touchdown I caught wasn't even from our quarterback, it had to come Randel El on a reverse pass. As well as Jason and I have done statistically this year, we have not connected for even one touchdown. Weird.

Over the past four seasons I have averaged a touchdown pass every 8.5 receptions, compared to 1 in 40 this year. At least I'm not on my own fantasy football team. Oh wait, I'm on JC's, so that doesn't add up. Also weird.

Now, by no means am I complaining, I'll take the scores any way this team can get them. I'll also celebrate the wins whether I even touch the ball or not, but I have to wonder why I can't find my way into the end zone.

First of all we have been kicking all kinds of field goals. Back to the fantasy world, Suisham is on my team, so I can't be too upset. While this team has done an outstanding job of getting the ball down the field, we have been average at finishing drives. That's something that will continue to get better as the season goes on. Also, the times we do get down inside the 10 Clinton has been running it in on first and second down.

Second thing to consider is I'm out of the game plan when we get in the red zone. Completely untrue. Our offense installs the red zone plan every Friday morning and week after week I walk out of the meeting thinking I'm gonna not only score, but maybe get two or three. The third thing is that while I've been consistent, I haven't had a play over 28 yards. If I had a Santana Moss spin move I would have for sure broke a big one, I might even have as good a touchdown dance as Tana up my sleeve, but I guess no one could really know?

So at this point nothing would surprise me in the red zone. I could score 8 touchdowns in the last 8 games and I guess I won't be surprised to only get one or two. One things for sure with Zorn, I'm going to catch a bunch more footballs, giving all kinds of opportunities to get in to the red zone.

TC: Ghosts don't Exist...or do they?

As we have mentioned on the site, Chris and I are producing a movie. On Saturday, a bunch of us made it over to Brentsville, VA to check out the supposedly haunted jail and courthouse. We started our private tour in the courthouse by interviewing the guys from DCMAG. Eric asked them to tell us their scariest experience on the job. This is John's

The scariest thing that ever happened to me was right here in this room. Early in the night I had gone up the steps to set up the camera. When I got up there I set the camera, my flash light, and a spool of fishing string on the railing then went downstairs. After doing a few things I went back up to start recording and noticed that the fishing string wasn't on the railing. "Whatever" I thought and just blamed it on a busy night. I thought I must have misplaced it...until, later on, we were standing by the staircase and all of the sudden, I get hit in the chest with something. When the item hit the ground I knew immediately what it was, the spool. We flipped on the light and checked around, but John and myself were the only two in the room and the spool was lying right there on the ground...
The only thing I thought after hearing this was, these guys are good story tellers, not that ghosts are real, and to the jail we went. The first thing we did was check everything out, taking pictures and after everyone had had their tour, we dove into the real stuff, an EVP session. We all stood up in the room where James Clark was shot and John tried to get his spirit to talk (I am a huge skeptic of all of this, not scared, and totally amused at what is happening in the jail). So twenty minutes go by with nothing and John goes to get one of their female team members. She comes up to try the same thing, talking with the ghosts (which was amazing...she actually started crying). But the results were the same, nothing.

So as we were leaving we thought our night was a failure because we didn't hear or see any ghosts. But before we pulled away, the ghost hunters told us that EVP's are generally heard upon reviewing the recordings after. They told us it was likely we got some good stuff while there. And, we scored. They actually recorded two EVP's that night. One is a response the John's question. You can clearly hear "No." And the second, I have no clue what it is saying, but it is there. Check 'em out.

Now even though I am not convinced that ghosts exist, everyone can to decide for themselves. Tell us what you think! Is Brentsville jail really haunted? Either way I consider the night a success. I mean who wouldn't want to do a ghost hunt with real Ghostbusters!

TC: Skins/Lions

Photo Matt Terl, The Redskins Blog

Casey Rabach should be a front runner for the Pro Bowl. Anchoring an offensive line that paves the way for the best runner in the NFL should be deserving of nothing less than that honor. To have CP headed for his first MVP season, allow Jason to complete 30 plus passes to three separate receivers, and to say things like this, "Oh yeah, I've thrown up on the field. That happens a lot, yeah. Guys puke all the time." makes him the number one center in my book.

Today proved to be no different. CP rushed for his fifth straight 120+ yard game and Jason completed 82 percent of his passes and the Skins had 439 total yards! If you ask me, that's a pretty damn good day at the office. Unfortunately for the fans, the score didn't reflect what the game could have been thanks to turnovers and penalties. But, a win is a win.

It's crazy that all of that happened and I haven't even mentioned Santana Moss. Even though he has the Lions record in fantasy football, the man straight knows what to do when it comes to the real thing. Today, he could not have been better. I mean Santana was so good today that players from both teams tried but couldn't bring him down!

After a sloppy win today and the first half of the season in the books I am confident to say that I, like many fans, couldn't be more thankful that the Redskins are 6-2. If they can repeat in the second half we're looking at a 12-4 record, a 2000 yard running back, 3 receivers with 60+ catches, and hopefully a large group of guys joining Rabach in Hawaii to celebrate winning in February. But for now, Monday night and the Steelers is all that matters.

CB 5: Life with Jason Taylor

This post is a lot like that TV show on MTV. The one where they say, “You think you know…but you have no idea” and in this case, you have no idea. My name is Colt Brennan. I'm a 6th round rookie QB, grew up in So Cal, played college ball in Hawaii, so I’d say I am a pretty laid back kind of guy. I wonder if they took that into consideration when they decided to issue lockers? Considering they saw fit to put me between Chris Cooley and Jason Taylor. At first you may think, "what an awesome experience," I get to be between two pro bowlers, potential hall of famers, dancers. Every day. For the next 5 months. What dream right? More like what a nightmare.

Chris (considering this will be posted on your blog) you’re a cool guy and it’s been pretty fun easing my way into the NFL watching you on a day-to-day basis. You make everyday a little different. But you’ve also made everyday for me a nightmare...

It all started when Jason decided to be tough guy on me one day, warning if I ever got in his way, or touched any of his stuff he would, "beat my ass.” Following this encounter something happened that soon became an everyday event. At first it was funny, but it eventually became a huge pain in my ass. Whenever Chris got his chance, he would do something. For example: he would take a fresh pair of Jason’s Jordan’s (probably sent directly by Michael Jordan) and hide them in my locker. Or maybe take all my dirty laundry and stack it high in front of Jason’s locker. Or better yet, being the great artist Chris is, he drew cartoons (depicting Jason doing… things not meant for children) and taped them on Jason's locker. In the end, who got blamed for it all? I did. Some stuff he probably actually believed was me, and some stuff he knew that I had played no part in any of it yet still tried to give me the blame. Why? Because he started to gain a lot of enjoyment by seeing me in agony.

Chris then started to lose interest, and he wouldn’t try so hard to implicate me into screwing with Jason, yet things kept happening. Like stolen shoes and computer print outs (that didn’t make Jason look so manly) and Jason began retaliating. All of the sudden I’d find my clothes and stuff piled far from my locker in the middle of the room. I began coming to my locker and seeing white tape out lining the boundaries where I was allowed to go (of course the space was not even reasonable), but that didn’t matter. At this point I suspected that Jason was actually messing with his own stuff just to find reason, to mess with me. Like wrapping my helmet up in tape or dismantling it, just to be a pain. Perhaps his best feat was lacing my helmet and visor with Vaseline, which meant I spent the practice in a slippery helmet and no visor, because I couldn’t see out of it (the Vaseline took forever to wipe off).

So thus, this has been my life for the past couple months, and I’ve come to realize what I am this year, and what maybe a lot of rookies are across the league. I’m their pawn, which they maneuver for their pure enjoyment! But don’t worry all you people out there, this past week, I cut Jason’s shoelace on his custom Jordan cleats. I did it discretely, so when Jason put his cleats on Friday and made his way to the practice field, he leaned down to tighten his shoe, he pulled tight, and. POP! There went his shoelace. They [equipment staff] had to run and get some new shoes for him to wear at practice that day, and at first he thought it was just a random occurrence. Well when he finally looked around and saw an out of the ordinary number of eyes watching and smiling, he knew something was up. He Blamed Chris!!

Yode's Corner: Bumps and Bruises

If you want to know what it feels like to get hit in the NFL check out the following pictures. Yes that is the back of my leg with the best bruise I have ever received on it. It starts under my right butt cheek and continues down to about my calf and is now a lovely shade of red to purple. I think in a couple of days it will start to change colors into a rainbow of blacks, blues, maybe some greens, yellows, and reds. It happened during special teams last week and hurts like hell.

There is only one thing that comes to mind, I think would compare to the shot I took in the leg. And that is to have Barry Bonds back in his prime take a upper deck home run swing into the back of your leg and just get floored by it and see if the damage would be the same. The day after the game was awfully painful for me and felt like I got trampled by an elephant. Anyway I hope you guys like the pictures, as proof of the punishment we players endure week in and week out to play in the NFL.

Thanks, Yoder

TC: Sandwich Heaven

I am a man who loves a good Reuben sandwich. Every new place I go I have to check the menu and if they have it, I try it. The best I have ever had was at a tiny deli in Logan, Utah. It was not made on marble rye but instead it came submarine style with all the fixings your little heart desired. But since moving east three months ago I haven't really had many Reuben sandwiches...until last week. I have had 7 Reuben sandwiches in 7 days. From Leesburg to DC I've had fast food style, from neighborhood grills, open faced, Russian dressing, marble rye, submarine, I have had it all.

To my ultimate surprise however, is that Arby's is the only one that left a lasting impression (also the only one I had twice). It is made with amazingly soft marble rye upon spread with 1000 island and it holds together the perfect amount of sauerkraut and corned beef and melted swiss cheese. It, my friends, is worth the 5 dollars every time.
So far to date not one Reuben I have ever had can ever compare to the one they make at Arby's. But I will continue to hunt for one that does and if I find it, I will gladly crown it champion of my sandwich world. And please, if you live in northern VA and you know where to find a good Reuben sandwich I want to hear about it. Because I found this website and they don't have one VA listing!

Carving Pumpkins

Last night we got the family together to do carve some pumpkins. What would Halloween be with out it?

We also wanted to say thanks for all the limericks. We are going to post the winner in the next couple of days.

Browns vs. Skins Limericks

The normal game recap is getting pretty boring so instead I used my awesome limerick writing abilities. What high school English teacher wouldn't be proud?
Big game this week for the Skins
We hit the Browns in the chin
The game was rough
But, we were tough
And left the field with a win.

Clinton ran wild again
Santana scored with a spin
Z made good calls
Edwards dropped balls
Snyder now has a big grin.

I wanted to catch more balls
Instead I blocked like a wall
So sore my neck,
Like a car wreck
But, winning is worth it all.

Our defense gave them some lumps
Fans got everyone so pumped
On the goal line,
Stuffed four times
Cleveland went home in the dumps.

Next week we fly to Detroit
Lions will try to exploit
We'll practice hard,
Go into their yard
Hail to the Skins in Detroit.

Feel free to submit your post game limerick in the comments. We will pick the best and send the winner a free 8x10. Any vulgar poems will be deleted.

Quote of the Week

[Edit] I read this first on the Redskins Blog. It came from the September 8 edition of SI.

“We didn’t deserve it, but the Titans in the playoffs?” he said. “Tampa Bay? The Redskins! You can’t tell me we couldn’t beat the damn Redskins.”
I can't wait for Sunday!

Picks of the Week

TC: 10 things I love about Adam Jones

That he took advantage of his name during his last suspension from the league by getting involved in professional wrestling. Gotta make money somehow.

I love that if you are lucky enough to hang with Pacman, chances are you'll be questioned by one or more policemen.

If you make Pacman mad, you might get spat on.

For taking out a full ad in The Tennessean, promising "he'll win back trust" of his teammates and fans." "To my family, teammates, coaches and fans, I recognize that I have lost the right to ask for your patience and understanding," Jones wrote. "However, I will do everything in my power to regain your trust and respect."

I love that his closest personal advisor is Deion Sanders.

For enjoying him some nightlife (who cares what the Commissioner of the NFL says).

First for having a bodyguard and second for throwing down with said bodyguard after getting a little tipsy.

For releasing a hip hop album through his own recording label, National Street League Records. Let it Shine Pac, Let it Shine.

For this
Jones and American rap artist Nelly patronized the club on the evening in question. Nelly, along with someone known only as Richard Rich, began to shower the stage with hundreds of one-dollar bills; an act known as making it rain." Jones then joined Nelly by throwing his own money for "visual effect." Club promoter Chris Mitchell then directed his dancers to collect the money. According to the club's co-owner, Jones became enraged when one of the dancers began taking the money without his permission. He allegedly grabbed her by her hair and slammed her head on the stage. A security guard intervened and scuffled with members of Jones' entourage of half a dozen people. Jones then allegedly threatened the guard's life. During this time, Mitchell and a male associate left the club with a garbage bag filled with $81,020 of Jones' money and two Breitling watches, which police later recovered.

After club patrons left following the original confrontation, the club owner claimed a person in Jones' entourage returned with a gun and fired into a crowd, hitting three people, including the security guard involved in the earlier skirmish. The guard was shot twice, and one of the people hit--former professional wrestler Tommy Urbanski--was paralyzed from the waist down. Jones maintains that he did not know the shooter, although the club's owner insists that Jones did. On March 26, 2007, the Las Vegas Police recommended to the city's district attorney that Jones be charged with one count of felony coercion as well as one misdemeanor count of battery and one misdemeanor count of threat to life.
Finally, I love Pacman for making Mr. Jerry Jones a bit red in the face.

Back to work.

So the last couple days have been a nice little sabbatical from life, no football, no blog, just a couple days hanging around the house. Good thing I'm working for myself on this website, cause as lazy as I was on Monday and Tuesday was close to embarrassing. The only goal I had for myself went unaccomplished, I needed a new drivers license, but the printer was broke at the Leesburg DMV. I mean really, how does that happen? I did accomplish two full seasons of College football on PS3, taking Utah State to their first bowl game since 1997.

I feel like there are a few things that need to be addressed. We showed up and played our asses off last Sunday. No one under estimated the St. Louis Rams, we knew that they were a good football team and I don't feel like we were playing down to a different level. I was happy with how hard our team played and how we fought back to take the lead close to the end of the game. Problems arise when you turn the ball over three times and commit costly penalties deep into drives. Yes, I was a culprit of both offences and I could make excuses for them, but I'm not going to. Instead, I'll keep running my ass off when I catch the ball.

I've also heard that this "blog" is distracting my attention from football. I may not be playing as well because of a website. For anyone with this concern I will assure you that sitting in front of my computer for a half hour every day is not much different than if I was gonna watch TV. No one's bitching if I'm at my house watching Seinfeld. Also, adding a couple funny improv videos every week really isn't that big of a deal. Finally, because I'm sharing some fun with everyone doesn't mean I'm dying for attention, we just like doing the stuff were doing. (If this explanation didn't appease everyone than consider that this is the best start to a season I've had in my career. Forget about just stats, which are pretty damn good, the last five games are the best I've ever played. Hopefully that helps.)

That shit being said, it was great getting back into work this week. After the last two days of sulking I was up early and with a great attitude, three cups of coffee didn't hurt either. By 8:30 this morning I had Yoder in referees position in the lobby of Redskins Park. Later in the day we were busy coming up with lude ab routines in the weight room.. Double dogs and eagle ups might have to make a video appearance later in the week. Practice was outstanding, which wasn't a surprise considering this is a blue collar working team that is excited to get back on track. We will be back on track.

One last thing I've been thinking about all weekend. Josh Brown, wtf, just miss the kick.

One more thing, our new punter is not skinny.

TC: Random Update

I know that everyone has anxiously been waiting for an update from Chris which I promise is coming but until then some interesting things have happened that I want to hear your thoughts on.

  • First is Romo - Its crazy that he will be back just in time to play us at FedEx but I wouldn't want to give the Cowboys fans any excuses of why we beat them the second time around. With his injury comes Roy Williams. Interesting that instead of signing a younger QB the Cowboys decided to add another high paid receiver to their arsenal.

  • Giants lose - There are a few reasons that this is good. One, I know that watching this last night helped ease the pain of the Rams loss. Second, the Skins now have all the motivation they need for this weekend against the Browns.

  • Old Seahawks become new Redskins - Shawn Alexander is an interesting move yet I can't wait to see him back up Portis in his old system. I'm sure he will be a good addition. Ryan Plackemeier...I guess since Chris can't punt going this route was a better decision.

  • Doughty on IR - this sucks for Reed but thanks to Horton and his phenomenal play the team will be fine.

  • Pacman Jones = Smartest man alive

  • Finally, Pro Bowl voting is now open so please vote for Chris and the rest of the Skins from the link on the right.

Now I know that isn't what everyone wanted but Chris will be back in action soon. And so will Vladimir. "What can Brown do for you?"

Vladimir Meets Kenny Mayne

Chemistry

Getting on the bus for the trip up to Philly this video was showing on NFL films. The guys on the team loved it. I thought it was a fun look into the past. Zorn and Largent were obviously great friends and I thought it was funny that in a thirty second video of them not playing football, I could tell what kind of chemistry they had on the field. The same kind of chemistry we are building with our quarterback right now. "Now don't forget to tell 'em about my hands Jason."

TC: I Heart Donovan McNabb

When I played football the team that won the game was usually the better team. When Donovon McNabb plays, it doesn't matter who scores more, has better stats, and leaves the field victorious. All that matters is how you feel inside.
I [Donovan McNabb] believe that we lost to teams we should have beaten. Not because I think they are not good - they are. But I still believe we are better; we just didn't show it.
He must not have watched game film because going 30 minutes without a first down didn't show the Eagles being better. 4 straight 3 and outs didn't do it. And I'm pretty sure getting out-rushed 203 to 58 and being booed off their own field definitely didn't prove the E-A-G-L-E-S to be the superior team. But either way, a fact is fact and the Eagles were the only NFC East team to not make the playoffs last year and they are right on track to repeat this year. So if they know in their heart's that they are a better team after losing games, I guess they don't know what "better" is.

TC: Yoder's Canned Bacon

With a shelf life in excess of 10 years, this bacon makes a perfect addition to your food storage program and it is great for every day use. Take some with you when you go camping, hiking or hunting - keep a case in the boat, RV, cabin or anywhere that you may need to prepare a meal but don’t have refrigeration!!
Even though Yodes has no part in the business, it got me thinking what foods would other Redskins sell. I did sandwich material.
Portis's Pulled Pork
Campbell's Chunked Chicken
Tana Man's Tuna fish
Samuel's Special Sauce
Landry's Lunch Meats
Horton's Horseradish
Cooley's Cold Cuts
Please submit your ideas today.

No Flying for the Eagles

We said the Eagles were going to be a physical football team. All week in our meeting rooms we discussed how the game was going to be a fist fight or, whatever that means in football terms. The Eagles came out swinging, but we weathered the storm. There was no way this Redskin team was going to back down from a 14 to zip lead. There was no way we were going to give into that team. We chipped away all game and after looking back on game film, we became the dominate team in the second half.

I finally put a touchdown on the stat sheet. I knew I was going to have a great opportunity to help the offense this week and really I felt it was a compliment to Santana Moss. Although he was catch-less, he opened up all kinds holes for the rest of us. I also have to say a big thanks to our offensive line, as well as our running backs. Rushing the ball for over 200 yards defiantly doesn't hurt the play action for a tight end.

The last two weeks have been so much fun to be a part of this team and yesterday It sounded so good listening to all the Philly fans booing their beloved Eagles in their own stadium. Nothing could have been better watching those fans sulk on their way home after they egged our buses driving in, screamed "sucks" after every player on our starting offense was introduced, and then proceeded to talk shit to us all day. I rejoiced driving away watching sorry stragglers flip off our bus with tears in their eyes. Just another win in Philly for the Skins.

So now 4-1! I don't think I've been 4-1 since I played for the Cubs in little league baseball and I have to say that it feels pretty damn good. At least good enough to get back to work and I know the rest of the guys around me feel the exact same way. This is an exciting time to be a part of this team, as well as a great time to be a fan. Three cheers to the Redsking! Hip Hip Horray!

Beandip's Breakdown

The Skins pulled off another amazing win on the road against Philly making them 4-1. Check out Beandip's breakdown of the game.

Pre-Game

I thought the travel playlist was pretty cool for the away games. I just took the last 20 songs that got played on my Ipod. To be honest, I'm probably not going to listen to any music before the game. This is pretty much the stuff I listened to on the bus and in the hotel. I know it's kinda Alt-rockie, but accept it.

Also, big ass game today! This should be a good game for me to make some big plays. I mean, do I really not have a touchdown after week four? I'm gonna get to work today for this guy.

The Ultimate Beer Pong Table

Written By The Guru

After the HUGE win in Dallas, it was only customary to rub it in as ‘Cowboy Dan’ had mentioned to all my Cowpoke friends. I cannot stress how much this team has grown from the beginning of training camp to now. Coming into this week, I think the motto should be “Make it Three for Philthy,” pointing to their loss column. Redskins’ momentum is monstrous, and they will ride it into Philly.

On another note, my apartment was desperately trying to find a theme for our beer pong table. Our other friends had chosen just an ‘M’, or the school colors. But why settle for ordinary? I free-handed the Redskin logo onto the table which was pretty hard to draw— especially to that size. From there, I made the lines bigger with permanent marker. Swallowing our pride we strolled into a craft store and bought paint, grabbing the attention of every middle-aged woman in the store.

Painting the logo took five coats, just because of the green background we had to work with. From there we painted the rest of the table dark green and put “The MerkHouse,” our apartment name around the logo. Needless to say, our table is the envy of the rest of the campus—especially with a juggernaut team lighting up the middle. Just another piece of Redskin flare for a guru’s collection. We are proud to show our allegiance to Washington.
Hail to the Redskins!!

TC: College Football GOW

Normally when Florida State plays Miami it is the talk of the town, but this year, who cares. So that leaves me with two choices for a game of the week. My first is Ohio State/Wisconsin which should be a great game. If the Badgers remember that football games don't end after the third quarter they should send the Buckeyes home with their 2nd loss on the year.

The second and could be the only GOW is between one loss Auburn and the should be ranked higher but they've only beat nobodies Vanderbilt. If Auburn loses the Commodores should jump into the top 10 but I don't see that happening.
"We're 4-1 and played a very tough schedule to this point and we haven't seen hardly anything from this offense," Tigers coach Tommy Tuberville said. "Once we get going, it's going to be much better."

Auburn's confidence + Vanderbilt's defense (364 YPG) = Tigers Win.

Other games that are worth paying attention to this week:
Illinois @ Michigan
Maryland @ Virginia (for VA/MD folks)
#23 Oregon @ #9 USC

Games with potential for major upset (please comment on these)
#4 Missouri @ Nebraska
#7 Texas Tech @ K. State
#16 Kansas @ Iowa State
#5 Texas @ Colorado.

There should be some great battles between these conference rivals with all home teams being the underdog. I say Colorado has the best chance for upset here but I guess we'll see tomorrow.

License Plates: Skins Fans are the Best

I have seen tons of personalized plates in my day but when we asked the fans to send in their personalized Redskins plates the response couldn't have been better. Of course we love all of them but have our favorites for obvious reasons. We got the idea after Dan Steinburg and other bloggers covered Skins plates recently but nothing compares to what we have to show you. Plenty of Dallas and Philly haters, some old school fans, and more. Check 'em out. We love Redskins fans and this is one reason why.

Yode's Corner: Naming Logo Guy

Hi Redskins fans, its Yoder back for another edition of Yode's corner. Today I stumbled into deep thoughts about the Redskins helmet logo. I have played with the team for 3 years and I just realized I know nothing about the man on our helmets. The first thing to pop into my head was, I wonder if the logo man has a name? I began to ask around to try to dig up all the information that I could on the subject and didn't have much luck. Maybe you fans could help out and if you have something please write and let us know.

There are so many questions I have about the logo. Does anyone know who designed it? Is it modeled after a real person? Is the man in the logo a Chief, a warrior, a medicine man, or just a regular member of a tribe? All these questions and no answers. I think the one topic that needs the most attention is, does he have a name. And if not, why don't we ask around to find out what everyone thinks. Lets all team up and work together and name logo man.

I thought that Mr. Redskin would be a good starting point. That was so general, plain Jane, and has no spark or excitement. Maybe Chief Touchdown would be a suitable fit. I decided to get so help from others and Colt Brennan came up with "Chief Running Pig" which fits since our O line is nicknamed "The Hogs." Plus the Hoggets still come to games, and we have been known the run the football.

Maybe we could call him "Twelve Braves" to symbolize 11 players and the crowd, kind of our version of the 12th man. But please, give us input and I will continue this story later this week with more ideas from players, coaches, and staff.

Thanks, Yoder
