College Football needs it some Playoffs

When Alabama played Florida in the SEC title game they lost, 31-20. Before that loss they were an undefeated powerhouse and surely the favorite to play in the national title game. That one win gave Florida the boost they needed to jump to #2 in the rankings and into the title game. But will it do the same to Utah's ranking? Will the AP give the undefeated Utes their share of the title?

Right now Utah is 13-0. They are the only undefeated team in Division 1 football. I don't know why they wouldn't deserve that consideration. Somebody has to explain to me why they wouldn't. There is only one undefeated team in the United States of America right now in Division I football, and it's these guys right here.
When you have to ask yourself, "Should the only undefeated team in college football be co-champions?" you should instead be asking yourself, "Why no playoff?" There has been a one full month since Florida beat Alabama, one full month since Texas watched the team they beat 45-35 Trump Missouri in the Big 12 title game. Just think of this...if they cut out the conference championship we could have 5 weeks of heated college football playoffs....and still finish at the same time! You can't tell me that the money is a problem. Basketball does it. The D1AA does it. The BCS could keep their TV contracts, they could keep their bowl games, and still make their money and finally give us, as fans, exactly what we want. A real finish! A real champion.

You can't tell me that 2 loss (1 to Oklahoma, 1 to Utah) TCU doesn't deserve a shot after beating undefeated Boise State. And what about the 1 loss USC Trojans? The 1 loss Texas Longhorns? I guess you can always say "If its not broke don't fix it." But it has been broke for a long time and all they pieces are there to fix it. So...FIX IT. Give us a college football playoff system. Lets let at least the top 8 teams battle it out.  If you cant figure simple championship solution from that scenario than you're crazy.
